Humming for Change

Humming for Change is a public engagement campaign to highlight the importance of inspiring young people in Colombia to conserve biodiversity and tackle climate change. Humming for Change is inspiring the next generation to be mindful of the threats to Colombia’s natural environment and the impact we can all have on our planet by changing our behaviours.

By demonstrating awareness and responsibility for our climate and wildlife, we can provide clear mandates to decision makers to take strong action at the two global environmental governance events, COP26 in November and COP15 next April.

GROW Colombia has teamed up with the British Embassy in Colombia to produce a video about the Humming for Change campaign.

The video shows Colombian school children articulating their own emotional connection to the natural world and recording their concerns and hopes in their own words and images in a Living Map. The British Ambassador, Colin Martin-Reynolds, will present these Living Maps to the UN Climate Change Conference, COP26 in Glasgow this November.

GROW Colombia’s Living Maps enable local children to have a voice in the global negotiations taking place over the coming weeks. Policy makers across the world have the opportunity to limit the impact of fossil fuels on climate change and to choose to invest in nature-based solutions to conserve our wildlife and wild habitats for generations to come.
